Angry 3600 stall went great...then i got home

this weekend my cousin, buddy, and I went ahead and installed the new 3600 revmax torque converter. Everything went smoothly and drove nice on our first 2 mile test drive. Once we cleaned everything up I drove home, stopped at a gas station and noticed a nice puddle of motor oil dripping on the floor...drove home and checked again now it was all over the trans/engine/rear end...
i also installed a new rear main seal and the round seal where the flywheel bolts down to...
we didnt use any rtv silicone around the seals...is that needed?
Any advice or tricks you can think of would be greatly appreciated im anxious to drive this thing

Sounds like you have to redo it. RTV isn't needed for either seals if they are done correctly.

Hmmm I doubt its the oil press. Sender behind the intake...so no rtv on the bottom lip where the main seal meets the oil pan? Also the round seal had a plastic center does tgat come off?

if it were my TC ( Yank instructions ) I would take it easy for about 250 miles, but I know some who stick them and go racing

If you installed a rear main you probably distorted the lip on it that rides on the crank. Pull it off and look at it.

That or put it in backwards. Its been a little while since I've done a rear main seal in an LS engine but IIRC you can install it backwards.

If that's what you replaced and now there is an oil leak than you know what you gotta do.. Try to see why it leaked and do your best to install it right next time. Good luck!

Im not sure about revmax, but I was told by Chris at Circle D to put mine in and give it hell! And I did. I made sure my fluid was all good and everything was working nice and than I did a 1/4 burnout lol. My converter is working very nice

My builder told me the same thing. There inst really anything to break in per say in a converter. I guess the bearings could be heat cycled once or twice but thats it.

I checked the fluid, drove around the block, checked the fluid again, pulled out onto the main road and went WOT!

Thats sucks i crossed my fingers when i did mine after hearing stories like this.
So you pulled just the seal not the rear cover? Made sure the seal wasnt installed
backwards? I added form a tad of for a gasket where the rear cover meets the oil
pan and on the od of the seal. I used a fel -pro seal and i accindently remove that
white plastic so i just put back on and bottomed out the seal onto the cover.
Make sure the crank area is clean i wiped mine with some gas.

Pretty sure the plastic insert is just there to hold the lips of the seal inplace while the seal is being installed (a guide while you slip the seal onto crankshaft.)

Don't forget to put thread sealer on the flexplate bolts. The holes go all the way thru the crank and it can cause an oil leak.
