Default Lost 3rd gear 4L60E

Driving home a few minutes ago and went up a big hill, car started revving way too high. Found the nearest parking lot to stop into, left to get back on the highway since I was 2 minutes away from home and 1-2 seem fine, but once in 2nd it won't shift into third and I'm not sure 4th is working either since I didn't get above 35-40. I basically know the trans has just taken a crap on me but I was wondering what I need to do. I live right near a dealership and they could rebuild it for me, anyone know how much this is going to cost me?

If you will give me a call in the morning I'll give you some solid advice.

It all depends on what your mods are if any, what your goals are for the car short and long term and what your budget is. A dealership build will run in the neighborhood of $1,800 - $2,200 if I am not mistaken. You could buy a nasty 60E for that price.

My plans for the future would include a stall in the 3600-4000 range and maybe h/c/I dd so maybe 400-430hp. I am located in concord nc so zeus performance or tick are the 2 biggest I know around here but I will try to give you a call. My budget is gonna be whatever the lowest price will be for a well built transmission. Thank you for the quick response.
