Default TH400 Swap Questions

I am currently changing my engine build and also changing the transmission from a A4 to a T56 now to a TH400. I would like to keep the factory traction control, and speedometer. Is this possible and if so, how? The TH400 will have a manual valve body.

Please if there is anything else I need to know about a TH400 swap let me know, I am also wondering about if the trans tunnel will need some cutting and such...

Thanks,

KMMG

You'll need to make a hole for the shifter cable in the tunnel as well as make a blank to fill the T-56 hole. Depending on how you want to mount whatever shifter you get, it could be a tight fit IF you want to keep the center console. I just did this swap several months ago myself. I invested LOTS AND LOTS in good bolts for holding it all together as well as cleaning out all the holes and using anti-sieze. As for the speedo, I tapped mine off of the rear traction control. The TH400 you put in should have an option for speedo input and you can tune the computer for that as needed. Just remember you'll be replacing your crossmember and see if that affects your exhaust. I followed the procedure for installing the shifter cable and went perfect. Have fun!

Traction control is ran off of your rear axle and will not be affected by the trans swap.. Least t56-th400. There are some stickies up top you can read for all the info you need

Thank You for the fast responses. Talked to RPM about a manual valve body TH400 using the factory VSS and speedometer. Not a problem...
