How much RWHP/RWTQ can a new GM stock 4L80E from a dealership handle............

A stock 4L80E can reliably handle about 450/450 long term. The weak part is the 3rd gear clutches. It's an easy almost free fix but requires internal changes.
The next weak component is the input shaft, some will break at 500 HP/TQ or less in HD applications others will live @ 1000 but generally 750ish is a good number to upgrade to a billet input.
900/900 even roll racing will kill the 3rd clutches within a month, maybe a week.

Also wondering this myself, haven't really found a definite answer, looks like I'll find out by pushing mine to the limit. Last year the car made 520/520 on a stock transmission of unknown mileage. Held up to maybe 20-25 track passes and a lot of roll racing.

But my next set-up will make 900 RWHP...at least. Actually, its gonna make more than 1,000....
Looks like to me I'll be needing a $3,000+ built 4L80E........oh well.
