Default th400, pro ratchet, cable seem to be in a slight bind

I got my pro ratchet installed, and its sticking directly outta the same slot the stock a4 shifter did, looks awesome. I had to cut a new hole in the tunnel to the right of the stock hole. Everything is in the car ready to go. But, the directions for the shifter say the cable must be straight where it comes out of the brass for at least 2'', or it will destroy the cable, trans or shifter in one shift! Mine exits the brass and is slightly curved towards the front of the car, it has to, the trans is keeping it from going straight down. I have seen others on here mount there shifter to fit just like i did. Stock slot, and looks great. Was curious what others did about this, if they fixed it or just ran with it? Its not bad but just has me a little worried I could tear up this trans

Take a look at that thread, I installed a Pro Ratchet shifter in this one. Scroll down and you'll see pics of the floor tunnel from underneath. Look towards the top of the pic just off center to the right a bit. You'll see a small hole I poked for the cable to come through. There are other pics I took with the console out as well....

Hope that helps...

I ended up pulling the shifter and moving it over and hacking up my damn console. My motor and trans sits very high up in the car. Cant even get part of a hand between intake and cowel. I couldnt chance a cable messing up my trans
