Default Rubber seal on rear of 4l80e

When you put the yoke in does it get pushed in or stay out?

Which seal are you referring to? The extension housing seal or the seal on the shaft itself?

Can you get a pic up to clarify?

It's a rubber seal that comes out at the end of the case. It's like 1inch wide piece of rubber.

Ohhhh okay, that is the dustboot that is attached to the seal itself.

It's not abnormal for it to compress a bit when the yoke is installed. As long as it's not mashed completely to the end of the tail housing you should be fine. If it is, then i would be concerned about the length of the driveshaft.

That's good. The key is that you do not want the yoke to bottom out when the suspension is being exercised. That is a bad thing!
