4l80e convertor
Im currently looking at converters for my street/strip car. Its a built 6.0 that makes around 480-500whp. The car will see 125-150 shot of nitrous 2-3 times a year.
I was looking at the revmax converters due to the great pricing/reviews. When I look on there site the regular converters are only rated for 500 flywheel. You then move up to 850hp converters that are 750 shipped for a base model with no upgrade. After seeing this, It doesnt seem like much better of a deal than yank/circle d offers.
When I look at yanks website and search 4l80e it only shows 6l80e convertors. Are they the same?
What convertor would you pick on a tight budget hotrod? It needs to be about 4300-4500 stall.
Thanks guys,
Dustin

Call Yank or CircleD or another one of the reputable shops. They'll tell you what you need.
Also, don't skimp out on the converter. It's the most important part of an automatic transmission and will dictate whether your car runs good or runs like crap.
Keep searching on here. There is a ton of info out there. In any event, give Yank or CircleD a call.

I got one of the revmax billet converters. It's still sitting on the shelf waiting for me to finish putting together my 4l80e and install it in the car. My thread includes the price I paid for it, including anti-ballooning plate for the transbrake/nitrous. Their "base" model billet converter you are looking at includes all the bells and whistles that other companies have as well. It's not much cheaper than other companies, but I thought to give them a try. Trust me, I'll be giving a review when it's in and running. If it's a bad product, I'll let ya know and won't be too embarrassed to say I bought a bad product.
