Default New best time with stock converter

Went out to the tack yesterday and got some new times. 12.508 @ 111.35 with a 1.872 60 foot. The weather was cold so there was a lot of traction problems. I was having a lot of trubble with spinning though first gear, and some wheel hop. So this morning I ordered some LCA's, I hope that will help. I will be getting a TCI SSF 3500 this summer with a tranny cooler.

I was just holding my left foot on the brake and right foot on the gas, bring the RPM up to just before the tires break loose and on the 3rd yellow roll into the gas and take foot off the brake

Very good times!
It was nice meeting you this weekend,I think you have a strong runner .
Congrats.
BTW. my best Sunday was 12.507 @ 107.41 w/ 1.72 60ft and lots of peddling. Traction was not to be had that day with my new vertor and a cold track.
Just curious but what was your 1/8th mile?
Mine was 7.9 @ 87.16.

Best I've cut on my stocker so far is a 12.97 @ 106.7 w/ a 1.94 60'

That was with bringing the RPMS up to the verge of breaking (close to 2,000 I think) and letting loose. I talked to a veteran auto racer, and he said with a stock 'verter I might get a better 60' if I only rev to 600 and flash the 'verter. I'll have to try that. I never had troubles with traction, I just can't get off the line quicker.

Oh yeah, mods are basically lid/filter, cutout, LCAs, SFCs, and free mods. Oh, and Nitto drag radials for tires.

Now that would have been 1 close race!
I can only imagine what times you will run with that convertor you picked out to go hand in hand with your weight reduction,Good luck.
Might be time from my heavy pig to lose some weight, and put on a LS6 intake and cut-out.
I will be looking out for you mister, lol.( Ever weight your car?)

no, I have not weighed my car. Every time I go to stanton they say the scales are closed. Is there someplace with an accurate scale that you know of? I would also like to weigh just the front half and then just the rear half of the car to find out the weight distribution, like 55/45 or whatever.

I'm not going back for a while, but I did receive my LCA's in the mail today!!! so I am going to install them right now. it will probably be june when I get my SSF 3500, and then july before I make it back to the track. Good luck on wednesday if you go, let me know how it ran.
