Noise from 4l60e in park and neutral only?
I have a 1999 TA with the automatic.
When it is cold idling there is no noise in park but when it warms up there is a sort of clanking noise every 1-2 seconds. The noise goes away in R and D but right as it goes to neutral or park it starts back up.
Fluid and filter were changed 5 months ago and it is still full on the dipstick.
Only other thing changed recently has been the fuel pump and filter.
I have tried a search but with no luck so any help would be great.
thanks

Cracked flexplate. Mine did the same thing for a while. I ignored it since like yours it only did it after warm up in park or neutral. After a couple of weeks and a few spirited pulls, it all of a sudden cracked all the way somewhere between 5800-6200 rpm and it outright scared the **** out of me when I heard it split and start banging against the convertor and engine block. Replace it with a factory Ls2 flexplate or an after market SFI approved flexplate. Goodluck.
