Very low pump pressure could cause slipping. The driver side of the trans has a pressure port covered with a plug. Either buy a trans pressure gauge on ebay for $45 or go to a trans shop and have them measure the pressure for you. Stock is around 60psi in Park/Drive, and 100+psi in Reverse, all at idle. Trans with a Shift kit or Boost valve will be 50% to 100% higher.
