Default i have to pull my long tubes to install converter

i have Hooker long tubes, i removed y pipe and all exhaust. i then removed the cross member, went to lower the trans/motor, my long tubes rest on the k member. it comes down a little but not enought for me to see the top bellhousing bolt??

In 4 a good response. Mine didn't hit but the only way I was able to get that bolt by myself was by kneeling on the valley cover.

Try it this way and jack up the trans past where the crossmember normally keeps it. This is good to know as I was thinking of doing a converter soon. Are both side headers resting on it? You might be able to get to it with one side removed if not. I usually get about 4ft of 3/8 extensions together and have the rachet somewhere around the tailshaft housing to get the top bolt.

yeah both headers are touching the k member.

Use a grinder and notch the Kmember.

I was doing a lot of stuff and had the heads off anyway. I honestly have no idea how to get to that bolt otherwise. I have multiple 3 foot extensions, swivels, etc and couldn't even come close. I'm sure it can be done, as it is often done, but I really dont know how. I definitely cannot get my hands up there from underneath.

Maybe with two guys, one to watch from the ds and a second with a ratchet by the tailshaft. I dunno.
