low/reverse roller clutch snap rings ? 4l60e pics added while putting my 4l60e back together not knowing what the previous builder did to the transmission, i believe that i need the snap rings that go on both sides of the low/reverse roller clutch to keep it from moving up or down? in the ATSG manual it says if i have the plastic caged roller clutch it should snap it to place not needed the snap rings, not that being said i have a steel caged roller clutch so iam thinking i need the snaps rings for both sides? do i? any help is appreciated thanks matt

I checked the disassembled '99 4L60E I have, and it indeed has two snap rings, one on each side.
They are #677 in the ATSG manual (page 102) and I show those as ACDelco part #06261051. They are available on Amazon for $8.01 each (ouch) with Prime shipping. My local dealer gets me such parts within 1/2 day.

Ya i saw the snap rings in the atsg manual just wasnt sure of i needed them. Iam finding funky things in this trans from the previous build. Sucks lol thanks again ted i knew you could help me
