4l60e converter question
Hey I have a question maybe someone knows the answer to. I have a 4l60 with a converter. I am going to be doing the m6 swap come spring time. I also have an 08 4x4 silverado with a 4l60. Would the converter out of the ta work in the truck transmission?

It's an ss3600 stall that was in the ta. I want to see if it will wake the truck up any and it's not all that difficult of a swap doing the converter. I'm guessing the lockup won't work unless its tuned for it though. I won't be putting a tune on the truck either. Nothing major is or will be done to it.

Without a tune the SS3600 might give you "codes" resulting not only in the loss of lockup as you mentioned, but possibly putting the trans into "limp" mode where it starts and stays in 3rd gear.
A high stall converter also generates much more heat, especially if lockup is disabled; therefore an aftermarket cooler should be considered a necessity.

The trans I am hanging onto for a while just incase anything happens with the t56.
Ill probably have to see what the shop would want to set it up for that if I do that. The trans never really got that hot on the TA I had a temp gauge on that. Once locked up the temps dropped alot. Would there be any gains or better performance on a stock motor with this converter?
