96 z28 beef up transmission??
I have a 96z28, starting to build my z, but got to thinking about how my transmission is going to hold up after I'm done, is it possible to beef it up at all? Or would it be alright the way it is? (stall converter already on my buy-list...)

depends on how much power you are planning to put down and how many miles are on the trans. if you havent already, a trans cooler is a must. a shift kit helps and a corvette servo also. thats about it without removing the trans

and maybe 450 hp? Somewhere in that area I suppose

As mentioned, a cooler is the top priority, followed by a good shift kit.
The Transgo HD2 and the Sonnax Performance Pack are are best shift kits (and really only ones to be considered).
If the cost/effort to install a shift kit is too much, just install the Sonnax 4L60E-LB1 boost valve (cost $25 and takes 5 minute after the pan is off using only snap ring pliers.)

the mileage isnt too bad. is that 450 wheel hp or 450 at the flywheel. if thats flywheel hp then ur alittle over the most hp a stock trans can hold. the shift kits and cooler will help prolong it and if you dont beat on it alot. guess u got to run it till it starts slipping and until then start saving up lol
