Default slight rattle on new torque converter, is this normal?

For the converter experts out there, just received a brand new TC for a 4L60E, just happened to notice when i picked it up if you shake it a little bit forward and back it sounds like the stator is moving inside. Is this normal because it is not engaged to the splines of the input shaft? Or should there be absolutely no side to side movement of any of the internals. It looks like a really nice piece from alliance converters, its been painted and balanced (has balance weights).

ok thanks for the quick reply, just wasnt sure about that, the last converter I bought didnt make any noise but it was fully loaded with fluid when I received it, this one appears to have been emptied out after testing for the most part, I can see see some residual fluid but thats about it.

Their has to be some endplay in converters, and that's what your hearing. It doesn't take much to hear the rattle when you shake them.
