i saw in a thread that you should keep checking fluid with a new converter. i went from a 3600 to a 4000 yankss. when i tried to reverse the car it revved to 3k before the car even started moving. then when i put it in drive to drive it around the block the car started moving at 2k. when it went into second gear it drove like stock.
i went to check the fluid only to find out the filler tube is kinked so i cant pull the stick out. i added 2qts without pulling the stick out just to see if it made a difference but it did not. have any ideas? i will be installing the new tube as soon as it comes in.

I don't think much advice can be offered until you can check the fluid level.
How much fluid did you lose during the swap, e.g. out of the tail housing?
How did you confirm that the new converter was fully installed?
Did you measure the distance from the converter pads to a straightedge over the bell housing?
