Default Shipping a transmission

How do you guys go about doing it?

I'm trying to avoid a $300 shipping bill...

I've sent a 4L60E minus the bellhousing, tailshaft and converter in a regular UPS box... but how do I go about sending a regular style trans?

Any insight or help.

300 bucks by UPS I'm assuming.

That's a fairly common price, given that the unit is large and heavy. I would see if Greyhound would do it. You could probably cut that cost in half.

Greyhound Express is a lot cheaper, but they have a 100 pound weight limit.

You have to hook up with someone that has a freight account.
They get big discounts for having regular service.
