Default TC install

I have installed TCs in TH400s in the past, and it was a "double click" in when installing to engage the pump. Is it the same "method" for a TC into a 4L60E?

Very similar, you have 3 parts that need to align as you spin it. Same as the 400. Safest way to make sure it is all the way in, measure the distance from bell housing to converter pad. Should be just over an inch, 1.050-1.150 range.

There are dozens of threads here where the OP thought he had 3 clicks, but didn't have the converter all the way in; as a result they ruined the trans.
When you think it is all the way in, put a straight edge over the bell housing and measure the distance to a converter pad. It should be 1-1/8" +/- 1/16" (same distance as Chris stated). Anything under 1" indicates it is NOT in.
