Just crazy that you are having so much trouble.
As Mr Bond stated, we are starting to suspect a bad converter.

Have you tried unplugging the electrical plug on the side of the trans and seeing if it would stall then? I know this will put it in fail safe but if it still stalls out this would rule out the electrical. Then if it still stalls out with the trans unplugged you can remove the TCC solenoid or space it out of the pump like mrvedit suggested and try that. Then if it is still stalling out It has to be the converter.

Did you do anything to the valve in the pump that is above the TCC solenoid?

This is one of those cases that makes you wish you had taken up knitting for a hobby instead of cars.

I unplugged the trans and started it up. Shifted and it stalled. I will try spacing the tcc with some washers and also inspect the valve above the TCC. Maybe it was the weak link.

It’s hard for me to think that the converter is bad because it was working before the kit was installed. But we are running out of things that it could be.

So I just pulled the valve above the TCC Solenoid and it did not just spring out. Looks like it may have been stuck in there. I am going to clean it out and re-install and see if its under spring pressure through the hole.

That did it. Reinstalled and pushed through the valve stop plate to make sure the valve moved. Reassembled and it works like it should.

Hallelujah
Is the TransGo 4L60E-A kit the one you installed? If it is I am sorry you never stated which kit you installed and I just assumed that you were using the TransGo 4L60E HD-2-C kit which is the one that most people use. Anyway congratulation you got it going and you are now an expert on 4L60E TCC circuit.

Yes this had me stumped. My conclusion is that when I was installing the shift kit I must have gotten some dirt or piece of rag in the valve above the TCC Solenoid which froze the valve in place leading to the failure of the TCC Solenoid. Once I took out, cleaned and re-installed the valve it worked like a charm. Did a small test drive and it shifted fine. What made it such a pain is that it happened all at once so it was harder pinpoint. I want to thank everyone that gave advice! It would have been much harder to do without your input.

Congratulations on figuring it out!
There had to be a logical solution, but this sure was a tough one.

Thank you bbond105! Yeah I have the Alpha. I put the instructions up because I had not seen them online. No worries about what kit, that went in like it should have.

You’re welcome. Thanks for posting the kit instructions. I intend to look them over very closely. After a few days of driving let us know how you like the kit.

Did you notice the two springs above the TCC valve in the pump? With two springs I cannot image how it could get stuck in the open position.

Yes both springs were in there. I am not sure how or what got in there but when I pulled out the snap ring and blocking plate it stayed in there. I had to gently pry it back and forth to get it to spring out. When I looked it over is had some scratches on it but not super bad. When I put it back in I used my finer to make sure it was not binding anymore. I will try it out for a few days and gradually increase the abuse.

If you were using a rag to clean and dry parts lent from the rag is very bad for trans valves.
