which flex plate for 4L60-E
I have a 00 4.8l motor out of a standard truck. I'm replacing my blown 02 4.8l in my auto truck. from what I read fromm 99 to 00 there is a crankshaft for auto and one for standard. is there some special fly wheel that will work.

Ouch. From what We've heard, the 99-00 4.8 that came with a manual transmission has what we call the "Long" crank. The first picture on the left is the "Long" crank, and the picture on the right is the standard LS "Short crank". If your motor has the long crank flange, the easy way to make that work with a 4l60 tans is to build a custom converter. We can do this if you're interested. It doesn't cost any more than our standard billet units. The only flexplate that will work on the "Long" crank is the 6.0 Lq4 flat flexplate without the spacer. This is an 11.5" bolt pattern vs the LS 11.066".
That said I have seen someone do some crazy stuff with spacers to space the bellhousing away from the engine, but that's ridiculous when you can just go out and buy another 4.8 on the cheap. That would really be the easiest way to make this work. Check out the sticky at the top of the page here in the auto section. There's a good explanation of all of this with pictures to help you understand.

Brian is referring to this thread of mine with which CircleD helped:

Brian is referring to a bell housing spacer, which while available from GM Performance, also seems a bit hokey to me:

This is the adaptation I was referring to.

Some things to consider here are pilot engagement into the crank, driveshaft length and tunnel clearance. Did not know about the GM kit, as we don't work nearly as much with the Gen 1/2 motors as we do LS.
