Default SFi Flexplate for 4L80E and long crank

I've read the sticky at the top of this section and I'm still none the wiser on what options I have to get my trans mounted up as it seems to be based on the short crank...

I've got an LQ9 with the long crank and a gen 1 style 4L80E transmission and converter with the big pattern (11.5"?)

So presumably I need a flat flex plate. But I can't find an SFI plate that will fit, surely someone has one that will fit?

JW makes one, technically not SFI approved but looks just like all of there other SFI plates. It is flat with 6 holes on the 11.5", fit the long crank no problem.

PM if you are looking for a converter to use. I got a friend with a Circle D triple disc that is made for a long crank and a 80e.

I took drastic measures today and turned my long truck crank into a short one... but left the center boss long so I can use a normal (old) 4L80 converter with a dished flex plate to save me having to then fit an extension.

As I've already got a dished SFI flex plate... now all I need is a converter for my 4L80, in the UK!

Impressive.... How much did you cut off? And if you want to use the OE 4L80 converter, make sure to get an SFI with the 4L80 BP, some only have the 4L60.

I would imagine you cut .400 off-curious how far the threads were tapped
orig, if you had to drill/tap them further-cool idea leaving the section on for the converter snout register

Yes, I turned 0.400" off. The holes were tapped full depth, so no problem there

I've got an SFI flexplate sorted as well.

I just need a converter now.... 3200rpm stall and good for 800hp
