Default New trans with truck pan / New yank 3600 . Approx how much trans fluid????????

Going to be installing my performabuilt trans with deeper truck pan with yank 3600. Performa instructions says 6qts start car then add 6 more qts immediately. Sound right? Not sure if diff capacity due to the yank? Thx

My regular trans pan--cooler---converter held 12 quarts easy. If you do it the way it says in the instructions you will be plenty safe. I always put about 1/2 quart in the converter before it goes on the trans. Check the level while it is running to see where you are at on the oil level.

I would suggest filling until the trans dipstick reads about 1" above full. With a new trans and converter that will be about 10 quarts. Then after starting, add more as needed; it likely will be about 12 quarts total.
As mentioned, put a good 1/2 quart into the converter before installing it. It should hold that much without spilling much during the installation.

I was able to put 1.5 to 2 quarts of fluid in my (new) converter without any spilling upon installation.
