Default Way to Tell if a Transbrake is Installed?

Dumb question, but can anyone tell me if it's possible by pulling the transmission pan to see if a transbrake is installed in a 4l80e? or would the transmission have to be pulled apart? Kind of thinking I didn't get what I paid for. If anyone can help guide me in the right direction, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks.

There should be a solonoid on the transmission somewhere, and there will be wires attached to it to hook up so it can be used.

Not necessarily. Some brakes are hydraulically operated, such as the case in edwardzracing's transmission, which definitely does have a brake. What's going on with it?
