4l60e 3/4 question
I am in the process of rebuilding my 4l60e. Everything was going good until I tried to air check 3/4 clutch pack. It will not engage, it won't do anything.
Is there something I can check or do. It was fully functional before I pulled it. But I did some engine work. I was going to put a aftermarket converter in it, and do a mild build on the transmission. Just new clutches and steels, sun shell, intermediate sprag, and new seals.

Where are air testing the 3-4 clutch? The Feed Hole in the Input Shaft between the 2 Sealing Rings closest to the Input Drum is the correct feed hole.
Did you jack the Pistons out of the Input Drum? Did you forget the O-Ring that goes the Drum? Is the Orificed Cup Plug & Captured Check Ball present in the bottom of the Drum.

I was not 100% sure which hole on the input shafts it was so I just tried all of them. The forward clutches engage fine.
And we never touched the Pistons.
I will tear in to the Drum again tonight.

If the 3-4 clutch will not apply at any hole and does not feed back through any other hole in the shaft I would guess with a damaged seal on the 3-4 piston innermost of the drum of and yes I have run into this either the apply crown it or the apply plate is missing.
We have one a couple year back built by someone locally seemed to have 1-2 neutral the trans was perfect inside except that part was missing.
