Default TH350 or 4L60E?

So I'm working on a drag-race based build where I'm going to wedge a small block in my '95 Toyota. I was originally planning on using a TH350, but I'm wondering if a 4L60E wouldn't be a good substitute. They can both be built to take the power, I know, but what kind of hurdles would I face with electronics with the 4L60E? Would it be worth it? The truck will be driven on the street, but certainly not daily, only as a toy.

Wow, not a single response? Even a "Hey stupid...."? I'm surprised.

Since you don't have a PCM/TCM to control the 4L60E and want mostly a track toy, I would also recommend the TH350. I'm pretty sure it is much cheaper to build a strong enough Th350 than 4L60E. A 9 second capable/reliable 4L60E is going to cost close to $4000.

Ouch. $4000. No thanks. No kidding at all, the last time I touched 9's (9.99) was with a nitrous BBC backed with a TH400 straight from the junk yard. I knew nothing about that trans, what kind of life it had, etc. I threw in a valve body and it was away to the races. It only held up for about 5 passes IIRC, but for $50 + the valve body, I feel I got my money's worth. I like the TH transmissions for that reason. I can only imagine how one with a fresh, proper rebuild will hold up.

I'm currently running a T350 and will be switching to a 80E but I have been abusing my 350 for 13yrs now and has never been apart in that time!
3 converters, stock, TCI 10" streetfighter, and currently a 8" 5k treemaster.

50 mph rolling burnouts in DRIVE with the kickdown disconnected.

I'm never getting rid of that trans/coverter combo!
It may end up in my sons Malibu tho as I can't see the 2004r living long behind his 406.

Do you want OD or not-that should rule out one or the other
If using a 3 sp, and it will fit, go turbo 400-if it doesn't fit, go 350
