Default fbody th 400 ford8.8 driveshaft question

hey guys, from my research it seems that the 4l80 e and th 400 use the same yoke. I have a short tail th400 and was wondering if I can just hit the junkyard and grab a driveshaft from a 2500 truck, have it shortened, and the ford type flange welded on? if so which year/model of trucks or vans would work? the reason I ask is because the driveshaft shop wants $425 to make a new one and this would obviously be the cheaper route. btw if anybody has the driveshaft I need and wants to sell it let me know, thx guys

Some th400 yokes use the same u-joint as some 8.8 pinion flanges.
If I remember correctly there are two different sized 8.8 flanges.
I forgot, but I've seen the info here before.
FWIW in 2001 I spent enough time in my local junkyard to walk out with a explorer driveshaft that fit right in my V8 S10 with an 8.8 (after putting the right transmission yoke on it).
