4l80 in a lt1?
i'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here it is, i'm posting this for a friend he has a 94 ta with a blown 383lt1 in it. he's wanting to ditch the t56 and go with a 4l80 since it seems to be a good idea in an ls1. i've done some reading for a while about swaping into an ls1 so what all would it take to put in into an lt1? would it be the same as an ls1 as far as the parts needed just lt1 stuff instead? tia

Look for 1997-up 4L80-E. It doesn't matter what its original application was as long as it was 2WD.
You can have it built with a reverse-pattern manual valve body, P-R-N-1-2-3-4, or run it fully automatic with an aftermarket controller like the TCI Transmission Control Unit. This controller has a manual mode where you can do manual gear changes with switch paddles. (not included) A crossmember will need to be built and torque arm provisions made.
The flexplate for those should be dual-pattern. Look for the larger bolt circle.
