dipstick tube question

Default dipstick tube question

I have a 98 trans am .auto, i need to replace my tranny dipstick tube its all bent up on one end......... will this pull out from up top under the hood without having to pull the tranny? It sure would be nice lemme know if anyone knows of a way to snake it in there...

There is a 15 mm bolt that is attached to the back of the block that you have to get from under the car (it is a bitch, passengerside ) and then you are going to have to lower the tranny down to get the dipstick out of the tranny.. As for taking the whole dipstick out of the car I never did that , Id like to know myself.. Sorry zaner thats All i know from converter changes..
