vaccum modulated 4l60 guys please chime in
for those of you that have a vac. modded 4l60, do you like it better than computer controlled?the reason im asking is because im going from m6 to a4 and i dont want to deal with getting an a4 harness if i dont have to..and it doesnt bother me to go full manual with the a4 ..i just want the swap to be as hassle free as possible..thanks

I don't think there is a full manual valve body conversion for the 4l60e (there is for the 4l80e). What vaccum modulation does is it controls the line pressure instead of the computer doing so...the computer still controls the shifts. To totally not have the computer control the tranny, you need to go to manual valve body, which would be a th400, th350, 4l80e just to name a few.

4l60E, vacuum mod
Hi Justin,
We have built many full manuel shifted 4L60E transmissions with vacuum set-up all you have to do is add a toggle switch for the torque converter lock-up if you're going to stay with lock. most street/strip cars stay wiht lock-up,no computer needed and if you have any questions just give me a call @ 940-594-6005 thanks for listening, Matt Jones

4L60E full manuel
To run automatic you need automatic harness, Ecm programmed for automatic and all sensors working correctly. To run automatic conversion full manuel is easy, install transmission with vacuum line connected to intake vacuum source and add two wires to power your lock-up troque converter.
Thanks, Matt
Thanks, Matt

Recently had my Rock-On vacuum modulated tranny installed - VERY happy with the quality and the way it shifts.
I plan on getting HP Tuners in the near future that will handle the 'tweaking' of the other tranny parameters.
I guarantee you won't ever get customer service like what was afforded to me by Dave/Matt @ Rock-On
BTW Matt - I don't see the pics of my car up on the site yet??
