M6 to A4 questions

Is an A4 harness needed or can the orginal M6 harness be made to work? Can the orginal M6 PCM be reprogrammed with an A4 file? I would imagine the same things apply for an LS1 A4 swap, but if it makes any difference, this is for an LT1. If there is anyone who has done the swap, can you give me some details. Thanks
