Transmission Question
I don't know much about transmissions so could someone tell me what a manual valve transmission is? Also vaccum modulated? How is it different from a regular one? Thanks

A manual valve body is when you shift the gears yourself. It's an "automatic" tranmission still (like a 4L60E or a Ford AOD or whatever) but the valve body wont shift the gears, you do. It's kind of like making a manual with no clutch. Basically a drag racing thing although I'm sure some guys use it on the street. There are also semi-manual valve bodies where it will shift itself in drive or you can shift it. You also have forward manual and reverse manual where the shift selection can go "1-2-3" or "3-2-1" depending on if you want to slide the shifter forward or backwards to upshift.

hey
Yes you down shift it as well, all the vacume modulation does is give you line rise off from manifold vacume instead of electronic, in my opion it's more dependable than electronic....hope this helps Dave
