Default Converter Questions

I have a midwest nitrous 4000 stall with a TH400 and it sucks. The car will barely start to accelerate below 3300rpm or so. I talked with a buddy at TCI who and get me a good deal on Ultimate Street Fighter 10" 3200 or 3700. When I'm driving between 50-75 in 3rd the rpms stay around 3300-3600. I've been reading up on the Midwest converters and they seem to be super loose, would I see much better cruising with another converter without giving up performance at the track or is this something I just need to deal with?

I'd check with Yank. They have made lock-up converters for the 400 in the past. I don't if they currently offer a 400 converter with that or not.

FWIW, When I had a YTP 4200 in my car (3.73s), I used around 2600 rpms in town. At 3300 rpm, I would pull away traffic easily.
