Driving in Regular D under 50mph, ok consistently?
I've got a question for you guys who know about these tranny's. I tried to search, but I couldn't come up with a good phrase.
I want to know if driving in D (not overdrive, i guess just 3rd gear?) while under 50mph will hurt the transmission in anyway? I just don't like the car shifting into overdrive at like 40mph and basically bog the motor. I also like to hear the flowmaster above 2k rpms!
Any info on this, if it will cause damage anything over time, or is ok? What about driving in 1st gear for short distances (like less than half a mile, but going slow?), any problems there?
