Default trans leakings fluid

my 01 just started leaking tranny fluid between the bellhousing and the front of the pan. i have vig 3200 with about 20000 miles on it. 37000 on the car. could this be the pump seal?

i didn't pull the tranny out yet, but there isn't alot of fluid on the inside of the bell housing. wouldn't a converter leak throw fluid everywhere inside?

I'd say front pump seal. Was it replaced when you installed the stall?

I would also think it is the converter. I had a similiar leak, as you are describing, and the converter had a hairline fracture in it.

didn't replace the pump seal on install ( kicking myself now). anyway to tell if it's the converter or seal before i pull the tranny?
