Diffrences between TCI 3500 and 3800??
I was just wondering what the diffrence between the 2 converters is other than the stall speed and STR to cause the 3800 to cost so much more??

I have the TCI 3800. Before I bought it I PM'd Kevin Winstead at TCI and asked what the differences were. Here is his response.
1. 5000 rpm - Shift extension (mine is slightly higher)
2. 95.5% efficiency
3. The 3800 and higher stall converters are considered Competition converters. The impellor is the part that is upgraded.
4. It's a 9.5" converter. It weighs 28.6 lbs dry.
5. It is a GM 245mm housing.

Ok, thanks for the info!! I'm just trying to deciede what converter I want to buy and I always figured the TCI's 3800 would cost about the same as the 3500, but thats not the case. I can get a Yank SS3800 for about the same price as TCI's 3800, but then the 3500 is a damn good price also.....ahhhh what to do??
