Default 700r4 in my '98 Z28

I figured I'd throw this out there and see what is needed. I've got a 700r4 out of my old, wrecked IROC-Z. It was built very strong and has a manual shift body and was incredibly fast for shifting. I don't really want to sell it so I was wondering if it would be possible to put it in my '98 Z28 and what would be necessary for it to fit. I know I'd need an adapter plate for the bellhousing, and possibly some alterations to the tranny mount, but has anyone else done this sorta thing? I think this tranny would be great for my LS1 build and it shifted faster and harder than this stocker could ever hope to. Please let me know what I need to do to get it to work. thanks

You'll want a bracket from BowTieOverdrive (700r4.com) to adapt the critical TV cable to your LS1 setup. I bought one of their systems to adapt my 4160 carb and it worked awesome. No worries about frying the tranny either cuz the cable geometry isn't right.

http://www.tvmadeez.com/ls1_cam/ for your app.

Would you happen to know where the adapter plates for 700r4-LS1 could be found? I'm sure some of the th350/th400 guys would know!

im doing a th400 conversion soon and i dont plan on using an adapter plate. Ive heard the tranny bolts line up fine minus the 12 o clock bolt. When i did my research for my conversion i didnt really see anyone using one. it may be different with the 700r4 but i think you'll be ok.

the bellhousings are all the same between the SBC/BBC trannies, they only differ with a BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) and thats if it's specific to BOP; if you're running a Chevy tranny, then this should work too! Thanks m8
