Default Bad tune or bad trans.

My brother is looking at a '99 WS6 with 56k slp headers, catted y, Magnaflow catback, slp 85mm MAF, pulley, and some supension pieces. The car is at a used dealership. I drove the car yesterday and it feel kinda doggy compared to my stock '02 T/A m6. The shifts are firm, but it seems like its shifting late. Also it was a little jerky around town when I would give it gas. The maintenace guy didn't think it had any trans work done to it. I was thinking a stall might explain the jerkyness. I need to know if its the tranny going out, or if the car needs a tune or converter.
My dad is going to hook up his scanner to today, and I'll have the shop Used to work at drive it if he is going to get it.
Thanks for any help, Damien

There are some threads referring to tranny slippage. Doesn't sound like the trans is slipping though. I would get rid of that MAF and replace it with a stock unit or the Z06 version. Check the fluid and filter for the trans especially with 56K miles on it.
