Ok, so my torco tq converter apparently killed my 700r4. Dave at Rock-on told me that the input shaft was banging against the inside of the verter and it wouldn't be worth it to have him rebuild it since it was a 27 spline unit. Since i'm about to start buying a house, i dont have the extra $2500 its going to take to get a new trans and converter, so i'm thinking i might be able to get away, for a little while, with doing a rebuild my self until i can gather some funds.
The unit was supposed to handle 675 hp, and currently only pushing ~ 450 at the fly. Its got a billet servo, and red alto clutches and bunch of other stuff so i'm trying to only replace the stuff that really needs to. I'm also thinking of grinding the front of the input shaft so it doesnt hit the converter.
I need to know what tools i'm going to need, or what tools i can susbstitute to try and keep the cost as low as possible.
