Default How to tell if a tranny has a shift kit?

I bought my th350 complete, but he did not know if it had a shift kit in it or not. It shifts pretty firm, but it's not a harsh shift like my friend's 4L60 with a shift kit in it. It's a manual valve body if that makes any difference. How can I tell if I have a kit or not? I'd like to buy one, but I don't want to buy one if I already have one in

A manual valve body has all the features of a shift kit built into it.
Faster shifts, more fluid volume, etc made possible by fewer valves moving to make the shift.
You can't put a shift kit and manual vb in a trans, the manual vb usually uses a special seperator plate, a shift kit usually modifies the stock seperator plate or comes with a new one.
