Midwest 4200 stall! Good for street/strip?
Well my tranny is taking a crap and i am looking into a Midwest 4200 stall for my SS.. I have heard some good things and some bad things about midwest.. but how is the actual quality of them?
I am coming from a Vig3200 and it seems really innefficient.. so how would the Midwest 4200 compare to that?
Also.. How loose would it be on the street? or are they pretty tight converters? It has a 2.7 STR on it.. so it will hit hard most likely..
and I make max power at 6250 RPMS's.. so it should drop me right where i need to be! I have 3.23 stock gears!
If anyone can help me with this question i appreciate it!
I have been searching all over for info on them! I hear good and bad things.. but its mostly Yank people bashing them.. I would love to get yank.. i'm just tight on money and lookin for something nice thats cheaper! Thanks

i had a midwest 3,000stall 2.0str and it was great. Just upgraged to a fuddle 3,800 stall 2 weeks ago.. Never had a problem with the midwest at all, locked up great and drove good not to mention the awesome wot over the stock converter.

The Midwest TC I had leaked from the front cover. Their customer service is not that good and gave me the runaround for 2 months. The performance was not bad and it was heavier than most aftermaket TC's. I ended up selling the replacement TC and bought a Yank SS4000. There was a night and day difference between the Yank SS4000 and the Midwest 3600. I would go with another brand like Yank, Vig or Fuddle.
