Default Flexplate question? Help please!

Recently swapped a 6.0L iron block into my T/A, along with a TCI 3500 stall torque converter. Last night when the new bolts that came with the TC were being put through the flexplate & tightened down.... I noticed the flexplate actually "giving" towards the TC. Is this normal? Should it "bend in" slightly as the bolts are torqued down? The guys that have been helping with this, who admittedly know MUCH more about it than myself, say it should not do that and it needs to be replaced with the TCI unit. Opinions? Supporting info? I just don't understand what could be wrong with the stock piece. It only has 10k miles on it for gosh sakes.

If it bends slightly when you put the first bolt in and tighten it, it's normal. Once you get all of the bolts tightened it should be pretty straight. That's why we call them flexplates instead of flywheels. It's because they flex.
