Default Tranny swap???

6speed car now, want to do an automatic. It's a bolt-on car, i plan to do cam & spray. Spray for sure already got the kit. My question is to go with turbo400 or a built stock tranny??? Positives Negatives. Any input, ideas, problems running into or anything would be helpful also........

You might need to wait more then a few hrs, especially on a weekend.

I have no experience with a TH400, (or a built 4l60e for that matter, still stock) but I think some of your choice will be dependant upon what power level you want. It doesn't sound like you are going too big, so I would say 4l60e to have an overdrive. But that also depends on if it is track only, or a street car. Not sure about the weight difference either.

Tell us more about your plans with the car, and hopefully someone can help you more.

Well, the auto is def the right dir. for the strip. if ur gonna drive this thing fairly regular i would def go w/an od trans. Now,which one? whats ur budget like?
I would say do a built 700-R4 so you don't have to deal with the expense of electronics. otherwise you'll need a harness and PCM to run a stock type 4L60E. Or......you could do either a 4L60E/4L80E w/a stand alone pcm and harness from someone like TCI. All depends on $ and what ur doin w/the car.
