I am getting a set 3.73 gears installed and am looking for a stall around 3500-3800. Was woundering what kinda of track time I would be looking at with just those everything else is stock. Also what kinda stall should I be looking at I have found a lockup 3800 stall and a non-lockup 3600 confused on wich one I should go with. My car is a daily driver doesnt get to see track much and we dont even have a 1\4 mile track close by. Any info would be greatly apprecited, thankds in advance.

Lock-up verter for the 4l60e. Make sure you match the str to your gears. With 3.73 gears, if you wanna have any hopes of traction at all with that size converter, you're gonna want to look for a 1.6-1.8 str.

It should feel pretty tight for a d/d. I had a TCI 3500 stall with a 2.5 str with my 3.23 gears and I loved it. Recently switched to a Fuddle 3400 stall 2.2 str, but I haven't driven it yet. Talk to John at Fuddle and he'll hook you up. He's a great guy and is willing to spend a lot of time on the phone to make sure you get what you want.

check out the mods in my sig. that will give you an idea of the 1/8 mile anyhow. also, if you get a stall that big you will NEED a transmission cooler, preferably 24k, and also a transmission tune, as your shift points will probably be off and your speedometer will definitely be off with the gear swap...
get a lockup stall converter, as it will "lock-up" like your stock one and the other will not lockup...and will be slipping constantly.

i'd look for 1.6-1.7 60' and low 13s/high 12s in the 1/4.

As far as lock up non lock up goes your gunna want it to lock up on the high way mostly to give you a little better mpg witch im sure is important in a v8 daily driver. Also my friend bought his car with a 3500 stall and put a set of 3.73 gears in it and some nittos and ran 13.04 twice back to back so that is not to far of where you should be this was a 99 to so it didnt have the ls6 intake. If your looking for stall help John at fuddle can help you out.

His car should have run low 13s stock...the converter and gears should get him mid to low 12s with traction.
