I paid 950 shipped for my current one from someone here on LS1Tech. He was from Texas. It lasted about 6 months before dying which I think is pretty good considering how bad these transmissions actually are. To me it's not how quick you go with them that determines how good they are. It's how many times you can do it. I got around a hundred 1/8th mile passes out of the current transmission. I'm going to try one more time with the 4L60e and have contacted a reputable transmission shop in the Midwest to build it. It's going to be incredibly costly but I'll get a two year warranty with it. Since I know it won't last more than 6 months no matter who builds it, I like the warranty and will be using it I'm positive. The quote I got to rebuild mine was between $2K and $3K depending on what broke/wore out inside it.
