Default Help me choose a converter

04 gto 650rwhp supercharged with nitrous i had a yank 3200 but it was blowing thru the converter on the dyno.I was thinking abt getting a vigilante 2800 .Will lowering the stall slow the car down any or will it get little faster since the car was blowing thru the 3200?

Its hard to keep a high horsepower car on the dyno with the convertor locked they just don't like it! With that kind of power it will be a short pull! If I where me I would Get a tci flexplate and run a 6 lug py3400e convertor you can always call any of the convertor companys and get some input! But I like the 6 bolt convertor with those kind of numbers! Ya won't have to worry as much of the flywheel busting and coming though the car! They have different stall speeds ya ought to take a look! They have all kind of options!

The Vig. 2800 is about the same stall as the Yank as they are under rated for stall and will act about the same!
with that power level the 3200 will stall about 3800/4000
You might run it at the track and review the times before making any changes.
we can upgrade/stall change the converter if you need
