Converter clutch?
Have a 1998 TA A4, took it to the tranny guy to have the mount replaced, he ran the scanner on it and said it was running cool and the converter wasn't getting hot enough, therefore the converter wasn't locking"your converter clutch isn't working right". I have 2.73s and when Im doing 80 my RPMs are at about 27-2800. He told me to replace the thermostat (the old one might be stuck open), so I did, and it didn't do anything.
anyone know what might be causing this?

He told you to replace your engine's thermostat because the tranny wasn't getting hot enough? LOL
There's a sensor in the tranny. When it sees a certain temperature, it tells the converter to lock. It has nothing to do with engine temperature...

My converter doesn't lock until 140 degrees on a scanner, at steady throttle above 40 MPH. Converter locked and warm w/2.73's at 80 MPH RPMs should be a lot lower than 2800.
