dumb stall question
i know that when you install a stall in an a4 it allows you to launch at higher rpms, but my question is what difference does is make if you race from a roll. for example if im cruising on the freeway at about 55 mph and i punch it, will there be any difference with lets say a 3800 stall? positive or negative differences? thanks in advance

it wont shift to the stall speed, a higher converter gives you a shift extension after the tranny shifts that helps keep the engine up in RPMs and in its powerband. for instance, my 3800 stall has a shift entension of around 4900rpms

the shift extensions are very noticeable.
just installed a 3200 yank in mine and i could feel the difference. the car's rpms only dip to 4500 instead of 4000.
another thing is, that your "dead spots" should not feel as bad. although they are not going to be a complete turn around, you should have some better acceleration from certain mph
