Default converter and gear ratio

would higher stall cars benifit from higher ratio gears or lower ratio gears?
since the higher stall is putting the car right into power band sooner and torque multiplucation is greater would my car be better off with a 2.73 or a 3.73 (or anything in between). when i ask this i mean on a street car with street tires in a stoplight to stoplight situation.

A lower gear ratio in a high stall car will be more responsive then in a car with say a 2.73 ratio because it will take less effort to get the car rolling.
If you have a higher str [2.5] this will also make your stall seem tighter.
Several people on this site have converter's rated at 3500 or above with a str of 2.5 and they say that the car drive's nearly stock. I should add that most of those guy's seem to be running lower gears then 2.73's.
I have 2.73 gear's and run a 3000 stall with a 2.0 str. It's just a bit loose, but you can barely notice it.

If they say their 3500+ converter drives nearly stock i'd say they don't remember what stock felt like, because it is definetely a whole different experience.

With that said, I would think a numerically higher ratio would let your rear do more of the work and take some of the load off the TC to move the car. But then that makes me wonder, would your in town RPM's actually drop? I could see that, with an increase in highway revs.

Yeah, that's a good point.
It would seem to me that in town, stop and go traffic, your rpm should drop.
One more benefit.
