Default Could my tranny possibly be built wrong

I got a quick question I recently installed a built trans cam and and stall I went from a ssf3500 in the stock trans to a ss4000 in the built trans. Before I installed the built trans and cam the car was pretty strong out of the hole. With my built trans and cam the car is pretty slow out of the hole barely spins street tires The car is alot stronger from a roll. I can only brake stand the converter to 2400 and thats it. I think the the tune could be alittle off do you think it could be something in the tranny as it shifts fine or do you think its tuning realated as im throwing a tps code? I had the converter checked out under warranty and it was fine.

thats a pretty beefy cam, i wouldnt expect to much from it down low...its made for all up top power. That stall should be good for the cam though, when you flash it the thing should roast them, or go like a raped ape Under normal conditions driving around it'll probably be a bone.

It just seems that the car isnt working right from a launch the car doesnt seem to launch hard at all it barely spins them from a stop. So im wondering if its more tuning with the cam as it throws a tps code or could something be internally built wrong in the tranny to cause it to launch weak.

With that high a stall you should roast the tires when it hits. Your installer did install the 4000 and not swap it with a stocker? Symptoms are more like a stock convertor rather than a 4000 stall.

It does happen. A shop installed a 4000 vig in my car even though I was billed for a new Vig 3600. Precision Industries confirmed it when I sent it back for a restall (Precision stamps a code on each convertor with the stall. I suspect Yank does the same). They had no record of ever selling a 3600 to this shop or the 4000 either. Precision took care of me though with no charge and backed it down to a 3600. Did you buy the 4000 new or used?

The 4000 was flashing at 4400 and was loose as heck on the street. But it would sure blow the tires easy.

What's your rearend ratio (2.73, 3.23, 3.73)? Street tires ---Nittos, MT Drag radials, or ET Streets?

I know its not the stock converter because I got the trans built after the stock one went out and I took out and put the tranny back in. Also the converter is loose and the car runs strong from a roll its just from a stop its real slow which im hoping its just a tuning issue because im throwing a tps code. Iam also using stock 3.23's and street tires. But I do have BFG drag radials for the track. Im just curious if its a internal trans problem that something could be built wrong.

RAM AIR, I'm in the same boat with you. I was pulling 1.67 60's on 2.73's with my heavy Boyd coddingtons on a bad trans. i got a built trans and got skinnies and MT ET streets out back and I havent been able to 60' better than a 1.70 yet. The shifting is MUCH improved from a roll though

My car feels like it wouldnt come close to pulling a 1.7 60 foot so maybe in your case it could be alittle tuning with the built trans or maybe you just need a better track prep. My car is alot stronger from a roll its prob from the shift kit usually there put in on a race rebuild. Im hoping its tuning in my case because im throwing a few codes.
