I recently put a shift kit in my 99 TA and it was running fine. Then on the way home from work the rpm started shooting up like the converter was unlocking. For a while they would drop back below 2000 rpm, like normal at 70 mph, but now they stay at 3000 to 3300. Also when it get on the throttle the rpms increase but the car is very sluggish. I used HP Tuners to put the stock tune back in just in case it was a tunning issue, I had been playing with shift points, torque management, etc.. What should I be looking at first, and what is the possible fixes. Please give the bad news, I can handle it.
